Toshiba Launches World's First Real-Time CO2 Emissions Measurement Technology: 1.7 Seconds, 150 Times Faster than Ever

【Lansheng Technology Information】On June 26, Toshiba recently launched the world's first technology that can measure the amount of carbon dioxide and other substances emitted by factories in real time, 150 times faster than existing technologies.

Using only a palm-sized sensor, the technology can take measurements in as little as 1.7 seconds, compared to about five minutes for each component in the air with existing technology.

Kojima Akihiro, head of Toshiba's R&D Center, said in an interview with Japan's "ABEMA Times": "Actually, carbon dioxide emissions could not be measured accurately in real time before, and could only be estimated through rough calculations. With this technology, We will be able to measure accurate carbon dioxide levels in real time."

Akihiro Kojima also introduced that this technology can be used to accurately calculate the greenhouse gas emissions reduced by factories and promote the accelerated research and development of decarbonization technologies.

Technology companies have always been active in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Many technology giants, including Apple, Qualcomm, Intel, and Foxconn, have announced that they will complete the goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions between 2030 and 2050.
