What is the meaning of AML?

The disease Cancer is declared when a certain body part of someone starts to grow abnormally. What is more surprising is that the cancer cell can actually create a host at any part of the body. There are many types of cancer, particularly this type of cancer that is Leukemia is actually the type of cancer that develops in blood cells. Generally, at the first stage it starts affecting the white blood cells then gradually it starts getting into the red blood cells as well creating more damage.

As per the rate, cancer has two major divisions based on the speed that is spreading, either it is fast spreading then it is sub-named as acute leukemia and if it is slow-growing then it is called chronic leukemia.

Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML):

it generates from the bone marrow that is a softer part of the body where new blood cells are generated then quickly it graduates to blood as the disease spreads. If the condition is worsened, it tends to spread in other parts of the body as well such as lymph nodes, liver, spleen even to the central nervous system (that is brain and spinal cord). This type of cancer is an acute condition as the name suggests.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has many other names, including acute myelocytic leukemia, acute myelogenous leukemia, acute granulocytic leukemia, and acute non-lymphocytic leukemia.
