Exams

What is the full form of ICSE?

ICSE Stands for the "Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE)".

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) is an assessment led by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination. It is a private, non-administrative leading group of school training in India for class tenth. It is intended to satisfy the proposal of the New Education strategy 1986. From that point onward, the interest for ICSE subsidiary schools is expanding. The method of assessment in ICSE is English. Just the ordinary understudies from the associated schools of ICSE are permitted to show up in this assessment. Private understudies are not considered in this assessment.

It is a type of class 10th board exam that is conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE). This exam is conducted for regular high school students from the CISCE affiliated schools. The medium of the language is English. This exam is conducted under the New Education Policy 1986 in India.

The extended version that is conducted for the 12th class students is called as Indian School Certificate (ISC), which is also conducted by the same body. ISC exam subjects include English (compulsory) and a list of other optional subjects including Geography, Sociology, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Biology, etc. ICSE/ISC exam, unlike CBSE, is conducted only in the English language. Also, there is no provision for private students to appear for the ICSE/ISC board exam. Only regular students can appear for it.

CISCE is a private, non-government board of school education in India that conducts ICSE/ISC exam every year for students at schools affiliated with the Council.

The grading is done in the form of percentage/marks. The marking scheme for the 10th graders is that 100% paper is divided among two sections in which the External Examination is of 80% weightage and Internal Examination is of other 20% weightage. Similarly, for the 12th graders, the External Examination is of 50% weight and the rest 50% weightage is for the Internal Examinations.
