SAT stands for "Scholastic Assessment Test".

 

What is SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test)?

This is a general test that is conducted in the United States (US) for admissions in various colleges. It was originally thought off during the period of 1929 and since then the name and scoring have been widely changed over the period of time because originally it was called as Scholastic Aptitude Test and later on it was changed to Scholastic Assessment Test. The paper pattern is in such a way that it is divided into various parts and the final marks are given on the collective scoring.

The SAT is wholly owned, developed, and published by the College Board, a private, not-for-profit organization in the United States. It is administered on behalf of the College Board by the Educational Test Service, which until recently developed the SAT as well.

The whole purpose of the test is to determine the capability of a student to measure on the grounds of whether he/she is ready to get into college or no. This test revolves around the idea that what a student learned from high school.

It is for the three-hour-long test. The scoring is done under the scale of 400-1600. It includes the section like Maths, Critical thinking, and Writing.
